Extremely Campbell

As you may know, Campbell is either extremely annoying or extremely funny. No in between for this kid, so I think I will start off with the extremely annoying, but keep reading for the extremely funny.

Today, I finally have Mason down for a nap, Coolidge is fed and sleeping and Campbell is watching cartoons so I decide it is a perfect moment for me to finally take a shower. It is cold out side so the water feels extra good and warm and who doesn't like getting clean? About 1 min. into my shower Campbell comes barging in and tells me that he smells fire. "What?!?" I exclaim. "What do you mean you smell fire?" I rinse the barely lathered shampoo from my hair and jump out of the shower and don a towel. Campbell then proceeds to lead me on a wild goose chase through the house sniffing out the 'fire.' There ends up being no fire and Campbell cannot seem to remember why he suddenly had the urge to tell me he smelled fire. Cold, and irritated I jump back in the shower, since there is no immediate threat of a fire, but have to finish quickly because I can hear Coolidge starting to stir. Extremely annoying.

Now the funny. Last night when Andersen got home from work he decides to give me an extra long hug and kiss. Of course this triggers the kissing radar that each of my boys have embedded in their genetic makeup and Campbell is soon trying to wiggle his little body between Andersen and I. The whole time he's shouting, "cut. cut. cut. cut." When we finally can no longer ignore his presence Andersen and I separate. Campbell looks up at us with this EXTREMELY triumphant grin and exclaims, "I just cut through your LOVE!" Who is this kid and how does he come up with this stuff? At least the extremely annoying and extremely funny even themselves out.

You've Gotta See This (if you haven't already)

I had seen this clip some time ago and I just thought it was amazing. I finally found it again so here it is. It really did give me "goose pimples."

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

I keep forgetting to post a picture of our Christmas tree all decorated. The boys had a great time helping me put on all the lights and ornaments while we listened to Christmas songs. We kept telling Porte that we weren't ready to decorate, but we finally had to give in after HE dragged all the christmas boxes up out of the basement! Now that's dedication.
The best part was that it started snowing for the first time this winter while we were decorating. The boys were already to play in it, but there wasn't quite enough.
That soon changed a few days later when the snow really started to stick! Andersen had to go and buy a scraper for the van since we haven't had to use one in 4yrs.
Now that's more like it. Andersen and Campbell are playing in the snow after taking Porter to school. Campbell acted like he'd never seen snow before and he practically built himself an igloo so that he could stay outside all day.

Thank You Teri!

My friend Teri sent me this quilt for Coolidge and I love it. Love the colors and the cute ribbons around the edges. She does amazing quilts, what a talent! Thank you so much for the quilt Teri. You're the BEST!

Cookies at Grandma's

Last Saturday we all went over to my Mom and Dad's house to do holiday cooking. We baked all kinds of goodies like peanut brittle, fudge, and peppermint bark, and the boys even got to help. But, first things first, Grandpa took Porter, Jimmy, and Campbell sledding in the snow. Once down the hill was good enough for Jimmy and it was back to the house for hot chocolate and cookies.
Cookie dough that is. We made sugar cookies and Mason was the best little helper...
When he wasn't shoving the dough into his face. Mmmmm. Must be good.
Porter loved rolling out the dough and cutting out the cookies. Infact we ran out of dough before he was finished. Campbell on the other hand was only good for 3 cookies (short attention span). That's ok, I think Joann had to do the cookies FOR Jimmy :0)
After all the cookies were baked the boys decided to snuggle up with Grandpa, all at the same time! That'll keep you warm.
Then it was time to FROST the cookies. "We're ready Grandma!"
I don't know exactly how much frosting actually made it on the cookies.
Who can resist a lick or twelve?
The cookies didn't last long, but we all had a great time.
Even Coolidge had a good time hanging out with Grandpa.
And Joann even got him to smile.
What a great day at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Thanks Mom and Dad!
