We officially closed on our house Tuesday evening and here is a picture of our new home we will be in for the next 4 years.
We have so many plans for this 18 year old house. Lots of updating and LOTS of work so here's a video and a few pictures of our first Saturday in the house.
That's right, there's nothing quite like handing a 7yr. old, a 4yr. old, and a 2yr. old hammers and telling them "have at it!"
Of course they thought that was a pretty awesome idea.
Mason on the other hand got tired of all the demolition and decided to give himself a makeover. Yep, that's my lipstick on his cheek. It's on the other cheek, too. Oh so pretty...
Before /After

Taking out this wall between the entry and the kitchen really opened things up. See, you can actually see into the living room now.
Before /After

There WAS carpet in the dinning room and linoleum in the kitchen, but soon there will be hard wood floors!
This is Andersen tearing up the old carpet in the hallway.
And there was not just one layer of linoleum, but 2 in the kitchen. We still have a lot of tearing up to do in there.
My job was to scrape wallpaper off the kitchen walls. Unfortunately there were 2 layers of that as well.
Before /After

When we are all finished putting everything back together the sink and dishwasher will be in the island, we'll have new counter tops, new appliances, and new floors. What more can a girl ask for?
Before /After

It was great finally getting to work on the house after a month and a half of planning and just waiting for the close of our house. I can't wait to show pictures of our project all complete!

You guys are impressive. I'm so excited for you AnnMarie you deserve a new kitchen!! I can't wait to see more pictures. And I love Mason's makeover. He'll have to come play with Hallie, she loves my lipstick too. And tell Andersen Thanks A lot! Because now he's got Aaron talking about moving to Kentucky. I just laugh when he brings it up. Although I did tell him that I'd move there only if we stayed for the 4 years you guys were there, then I get to pick where we live. Doesn't that sound like a good compromise? He didn't buy it.
Wow! That's so exciting! A house that you get to get new stuff in! I can't wait until it's my turn..... sigh....
Hey! I found your blog through Amber's. Coach Stutz recently sent out an email and said he'd lost contact with you. You can email him at stutzd@byui.edu I LOVE KY! It is so green and the people are so down to earth and pleasant. Is Andersen in school?
Hello,
I found your blog on Steph Taufers blog. And thought I would just say hello. Looks like a fun project ahead of you. We just finished our basement, and few other things around the house and it took us just under 2 years. Sooo glad to be done, however it was a great learning exp. for both Shane and myself.
I am going to to add you to my site if your okay with that, and you can do likewise. Your boys are sure handsome little guys. Tell you husband hello from us.
Yeah! You're posting again! I was getting a little tired of checking since you weren't putting up anything new! You guys are die hard DIYs! Good for you and I bet it'll look awesome when it's all finished! You better post again soon! I can't stand the suspense! I need your home address by the way so will you email it to me? Thanks! Love to you!
WHY do they put carpet in the dining room? TJ and I tore ours out when we moved in, too! What a ton of work you're doing, good for you! I can't wait to see the finished product!
It will all look so great when you're done but I think you're enjoying this a little too much, well, maybe Campbell is. So, how's "Breaking Dawn" so far???
