A few Saturdays ago Andersen took me out on one of my favorite dates ever. For Christmas he had gotten me tickets to the Spokane Symphony so we made a whole night of it. I even got to wear my fancy dress that I had bought for Andersen's graduation banquet last year.
Our first stop was the Safari Room at the Davenport Hotel downtown. This hotel is amazing and we had a wonderfully QUIET meal together. My mom was able to come and watch the boys for us while we went out.
Then we walked a few blocks to the FOX theater that has recently been restored.
The restoration was INCREDIBLE. Over the top Art Deco style and I loved it! This is the lobby out side the main theater. Top to bottom this place was totally decked out. This is a picture of the ceiling in the theater.
Look at the sunburst design on the light right above the stage. They did an excellent job restoring the theater to its original form. It must have been something else when it first opened in the 1930's, it's something else now.
It was wonderful to listen to the symphony and there was a guest performer, Alban Gerhardt, from Germany who is one of the best cellists in the world. I played cello in school and love the sound of the cello so I was really excited to hear him play. Didn't Andersen do a good job?

Hey AnnMarie,
This is Julie Nielson, Christy Grigg's sister. I've been looking at your blog for a while since I feel a bond with you guys from our BYU days. I hope you don't mind. Your family sure has grown and is so fun to read about.

What a fun date! Just the words Quiet and dressed up were exciting but then to see pictures of the restaurant and theater...WOW! It looked amazing!
I'm so happy for you! It sounds like you had a wonderful, well-deserved evening! And you look so beautiful in your dress.
What a night!!! Kuddos to the husband!
Wow, the safari room looks awesome! You guys looked great and I'm glad you had a great time.
What an amazing date! The pictures were incredible. I'm so glad that you got to wear your pretty dress too! You guys looked so happy in your picture. It's so nice that your mom could watch the boys too.
On a different note, Mom said she thought you guys were driving out to KY around the 21st of June. Let us know when you will be heading out there and maybe we could come up and help you unpack. We were thinking about renting a hotel room and then we could keep the boys out of your hair by swimming at the hotel or something. Anyway, we are so excited to have you in our next of the woods soon! Love you and I'm glad you got to go on a wonderful date, you both deserve it!
OOPs..."neck of the woods." Should have previewed it. ;)
that looks so incredibly fun, and you looked gorgeous! (as usual:)
