We were finally able to PLANT the garden today! It has taken weeks of preparation to get to this point, but we finally made it. First Andersen brought in some compost because our ground is basically rock and clay, so hopefully a truck load of that will give our plants a fighting chance. Next we had to till the ground with a rototiller that Andersen rented one Friday after work, then decided to take the boys to soccer practice while I wrestled it around the garden. I can only imagine the show our neighbors were getting on that one! And I'm STILL sore in unexpected places! Then Andersen decided to put a fence around the garden to keep the rabbits out. I had to replant my corn twice last year! I'm way excited about the garden being fenced in. Not only will it keep the rabbits out, but I'm hoping it will keep boys out, too :o)
The boys were so excited to help plant the garden and they did a really good job too. Now the hard part is waiting for the plants to grow.
There's nothing better than getting down and dirty... really, down IN the dirt!

Hey, Andersen nice fence. Wow, you guys are amazing and I know you love to do stuff like this. Cute that the boys were such a big help. Or where they?
Nice looking garden Griggs!
