So, Halloween ended up being a week-long event for us. We started out the Friday before Halloween with a Halloween Party at our house for the playgroup that I go to. I had a ton of fun getting ready for it and had to narrow down my ideas so that I would have enough time. Look at the smile on my nephew Jimmy's face. Looks like he's having a good time:0)
Here are all the kids that showed up, well, there was one little bunny rabbit that didn't want to have her picture taken. Hooray for candy!
THEN, on Saturday we went to my parents' ward for their Trunk-or-Treat. It was a crazy day and I just barely got done sewing Porter's costume in time. Here is Porter, Campbell, Mason, my nephew Jimmy, and my nephew Jordan trying to devour their loot before we can take it away.
Porter, it looks like you need that candy to put some meat on those bones!
And Spiderman Campbell's superhero power? - Devouring and handful of candy in a single bite!
Yee Haw cowboy! I can feel the sugar rush kick'n in!
And of course Coolidge doesn't care WHAT you put in his mouth.
And FINALLY the grand finale-Halloween night. Yes, even though we'd already had a party, been to a trunk-or-treat, earlier that day Porter had had a party at school and the rest of the boys and I had gone to a carnival at Babies "R" Us, we STILL went Trick-or-Treating. We first started off by going over to Joann & Travis' house for dinner (hooray! real food!) and then headed up to the Manito Park area on the South Hill.
It was a perfect neighborhood to Trick-or-Treat in because everyone was completely into it. Only a few houses were dark. This is what Porter and Campbell did the whole time, race from house to house.
While Travis and Andersen trailed behind with the other boys and Joann, Coolidge, and I rode along in the van.
The boys' favorites were this guy who acted like a manikin until you got close enough and then he'd jump at you and growl. He was really good at it and the boys liked watching other unsuspecting kids get scarred. And at one house they had a semi trailer set up as a haunted house. The boys went through it and came face to face with "a scary guy with a chainsaw." They couldn't stop talking about it. Why is it so much fun getting scared? Hope all of you had a great Halloween!

It is so fun to read your blog and stay up to date with you guys. (We have a blog to at: taufersurprise.blogspot.com) I am jealous that you get to live by some family members. I can't wait until we get to live near our families. Congrats on Coolidge and his blessing. Your pictures are so fun to look at. Your boys are growing up so fast! I remember when it was just Porter!
I just noticed this one too. That night created new memories for me and I'm so glad we did it together. My favorite part was when Campbell ran into the street and tripped and we watched all his candy fly out of his bucket but he just kept going and Andersen picked up his candy for him. It brings a giggle every time I replay it in my head!
Great costumes! Kaylee was so freaked/excited that Porter was a skeleton. Skeletons have been her morbid interest this year. She kind of likes them but they freak her out too. It looks like you guys had quite the trick-or-treating experience! How much candy did you finally end up with?? Gotta love Halloween!
